- Across many communities, there is a clear lack of accessible, affordable, high-quality baseball training spaces, limiting opportunities for young athletes to develop their potential.
- This challenge is compounded by a disparity in coaching resources—underserved areas often lack experienced coaches and mentorship programs that are readily available elsewhere.
- These inequities contribute to a broader gap in representation, as the number of Black players and coaches in higher-level baseball remains disproportionately low.
Only about 6.2% of players on MLB Opening Day rosters in 2023 were Black.
